Decorating with Plants–Real or Artificial?
Posted under Entertainment, General, Home Accessories | Comments (0)
One time, in the not too distant past, plastic slipcovers and clearly artificial plants populated many a living room in our great country. Fake trees and plants of various non-natural colors lurked in scary corners across the land. We all have heard and seen jokes about “Grandma’s Living room” being plastic coated. Certainly, some of us have actually lived it in person.
Luckily for us nowadays, even if live plants aren’t in the cards for accent pieces due to travel and work schedules, pets, and children, there are numerous options for dried and artificial plants and trees that are beautiful and low-upkeep additions to your décor. Martha Stewart and HGTV have excellent articles on how to use plants in decorating.

Some tips on entertainment placement and TV size for the room can be found at HGTV. While Bigger may be better in theory, the distance you sit from the TV should be roughly 2½ times the TV measurement, which is done diagonally across the screen to come up with the size number you see. In other words, on a 47” (almost 4 feet) measurement TV, you should have roughly 10 feet from where your head is to view the TV to the TV screen. This is just a rough rule of thumb, but a good guideline.
